Book Review: The Aging Cure by Jorge Cruise

Jorge Cruise has a new book out that is all about how his Belly Fat Cure and Fast Track plans can help you fight aging. The book has several 7 day planning menus which account for 3 meals and 2 snacks. It all sticks to his BFC 15/6 Sugar/Carb counting method. For the first time he has even included a Vegetarian and Vegan menu and a one with several fast food and frozen meal options. He includes a nice list of low sugar and low carbohydrate foods that are high in antioxidants.

By my count the book has over 40 recipes, along with the weekly menus. Jorge's website also has a lot of information on the Aging Cure, including a sampling of of recipes, found HERE.

My own experience with aging and Jorge's plans? Well, I feel better and think I look much better than I did before the diet. In fact, my sister told me that I look better now than I did in my 20s! I'm 43 BTW. I feel good, but not that quite good.

But, there is a lot to be said for a fatty face, in that it plumps up wrinkles. In fact there is a whole specialty of plastic surgery where fat can be removed from the stomach, thighs or other fatty areas and transferred by injection to the face. I do feel like I have many more fine lines around my eyes than I did before. In fact, I would have said I was wrinkle free before I started this diet. But that could just be on age too. In truth I'd rather by 54 lbs lighter with some eye wrinkles than overweight and wrinkle free, if those were my choices.

The book is $12.95 for the spiral bound copy and $9.99 for the Kindle version at Amazon. If you are a big fan of the Belly Fat Cure diet plan and are looking for reinforcement or new menus and a few recipes, this could be a good choice. But my strong recommendation is start with the Original little blue Belly Fat Cure Book. It is all you need in my opinion!

  1. I was wondering what the difference with this book was from his others. Thanks for the info and links!

  2. I've glanced thru the book, there are some good looking recipes in there, but I just don't understand why he needs to "reinvent the wheel". The original book is really the best, followed by the Fast Track. ( I understand a little about the need to market an item ). Sometimes I think this just confuses people.
I know that when I've lost my weight, I felt much better and I had a better mental picture of myself, I think I do look younger because I'm eating healthly foods. As far as the wrinkles, I have to agree with you, the chubby face filled out those lines, but then again I am 56 and I think I've earned these. ; )
So glad to read a post from you, I've missed your input.
    Stay well!

  3. I prefer the original book, too. I borrowed his new Aging Cure book and really only found a couple of new ideas, which I'd already come across when he sent out an email that had several recipe videos.

As far as wrinkles... In the past year I have noticed that I have crepe-like skin on my neck. (I'll be 40 in April.) I think that it is a direct result of having lost weight. Like you, I'd take those wrinkles over the extra weight any time. Wrinkles won't kill you.

  6. Hi Amber...i was wondering if you are wheat and grain free or do you still follow the BFC 15/6? I started the BFC in Feb'10 and lost almost 50lbs.and kept it off until May'12 I was diagnosed with breast cancer and have gone through lots of surgeries, chemo and just finished radiation in January. Believe it or not, i have gained weight!!! So i'm ready to get back on track. The thing is i keep reading articles about wheat and grains and how bad they are for you, i'm just so confused. I don't know which way to go. Then Jorge is throwing all these different plans now which are really confusing me. The original BFC is how i lost weight and i think Jorge should just stick to that! I just wanted your opinion on this. I don't have any problems with wheat. I'm just afraid if i eliminate this, i'm not going to feel satisfied and may binge which got me overweight in the first place. Anytime i can't have something i want it even more! Thanks~Lisa

  7. Does this post mean your back? I sure hope so. I've bought several books of his based on your reviews and really love all the recipes.
