There are 12 different flavors of Joseph's Sugar Free Cookies. They come in a bag of about 44 small cookies. I have tried the Chocolate Chip, Lemon, Almond and Chocolate Walnut. Sister M has likes the Peanut Butter, but we both agree Chocolate Chip is the best. For example, the bag of Chocolate Chip is empty after a few weeks. Chocolate Walnut is still more then half full after a few months. But that is just my personal taste!
Each flavor of cookie is a little different, but typically four cookies make up a 1 Serving with 0 grams Sugar/14 grams Carbs/1 gram Fiber for an S/C Value of 0/1. They are sweetened with Maltitol, which is a Sugar Alcohol. Many people find their stomachs do not react well to large amounts of Maltitol. Typically, I don't eat or like Maltitol products, but these I loved!
Joseph's Sugar Free cookies can be hard to locate. The "Diabetic Section" of my regular grocery store has a few of the flavors and several people have found them at Dollar Tree and other $1 stores. Some Whole Food's apparently also carry them. Joseph's also has Sugar Free Peanut Butter, Syrups and sweeteners. They can be found at both CarbSmart and Amazon
Joseph himself has offered a discount to Me & Jorge readers! If you order directly from their website you can enter in the discount code of "JC" for $3 off orders of $20 or more. UPDATE: The Code is working now! You also get FREE shipping, so its a good deal!

ReplyDeleteThese are great cookies, but for me I can't order them again. Too tempting to eat more than the 4 mini cookies per serving. But, if you have better willpower than me over cookies, they are great-don't taste "diety" at all! yum!
ReplyDeleteThey only had the oatmeal flavor at my local store and I thought they were disgusting. Hard as a rock, impossible to bite, a mealy, grainy texture. They weren't sweet to me at all and had very little flavor. This did NOTHING to help my sugar cravings.... oh a 4 cookies the size of a QUARTER per serving?? That's probably why they are disgusting - so you don't eat too many. I threw the bag away after a couple tries.
ReplyDeleteHowever, maybe the other flavors are better? Especially based upon the reviews.
Hi Amber - just wanted to pop back into your blog and say Hi! You are doing so great. I'm not sure if you remember me, I was doing BFC in Nov/Dec 09. I sort of went off it and just continued to eat healthy and lost even more weight. I always kept my sugar really low but just added more carbs bcs I work out a lot.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, you look GREAT! Kelly
Amber,
ReplyDeleteI have a "Sugarless Shop" not too far from me. They have all the different cookies. And the pecan walnut brownies,,, these are soft and you get 8 for a count of 0/1 Ummmm my favorite with a cup of tea, I buy 6-8 bags of cookies at a time ,, I put 4 in my sons lunch bag every day,
This is such a great blog to visit to get good information out to new ones,
Linda
hi amber just and FYI - i tried to order this morning and the code did not work- i will try again this week
ReplyDeletePS
ReplyDeleteI also buy Joseph's sugar free syrup for the french toast and pancakes, You would never think it was sugar free
Linda
Hollie, I'll contact Joseph's and see whats up. Did it just not recognize the code?
ReplyDeleteSo far I'm hearing the Peanut Butter & Lemon are really good, Choco Chips are indeed too dangerously good and yes, the oatmeal, not so good!
I just started the Belly Fat Cure and discovered your blog - love it & thank you for sharing your experiences.
ReplyDeleteI bought some of the Joseph's sugar free cookies and did not like them at all. I have been enjoying some of the other low sugar items Jorge recommends like Zevia soda and Ezekial bread but not these cookies. The chocolate tastes good but the cookie part was very dry and tastless. I hope to find another product to substitute
Well...I absolutely loved these cookies! I bought them at my local Dollar Tree Store for $1. I bought the Chocolate Chip and Oatmeal Cookies, but have only tried the Chocolate Chip flavor. They taste way better than any sugar free cookie that I've tried. My dad let me sample a few of his sugar free cookies that contain aspertame(we are both diabetics) and I did not care for them at all. I don't know if they taste good to me because I've been off sugar for a couple of months now, or because they're just so darn good. I just started the BFC today and Joseph's cookies are definately a keeper for me.
ReplyDeletehas nayone else weighed these on a digital scale? when i do it comes out as 7 cookies for the 28g serving not 4. P.S. the almond cookies are amazing!
ReplyDeleteBecause of your recommendation, I decided to get these cookies. I went to a Dollar Tree first but didn't find any. However, I couldn't remember whether Dollar Tree or Big Lots was suggested (I see now it was the former), and since the Dollar Tree was in the same building with Big Lots, I went there next. They had 3-4 different flavors so I picked up Almond and Pecan Shortbread.
ReplyDeleteI *love* Dutch Butter Cookies (the kind you get in a tin around Christmas?), and the Pecan Shortbread reminded me of that. The Almond... I'm not a fan of it. It was a smaller, cheaper bag (only $1), so I won't feel so bad about not eating them, but still.
We were out of town when I did this, so I'll visit the more local Big Lots and see what flavors are available here. Someone above mentioned the brownies (which were at Big Lots but I was wary) as being good, so I'll give them a try next.
Also, as a side note, I'm not doing the BFC. A year ago I was diagnosed with PCOS and my doctor told me to cut out sugar and flour. I have a sweet tooth now and again and wanted something to help tide me over. I don't have a big problem with NSA/SF-chocolate, so I thought I'd look into these. Thank you for posting your review and the other helpful blog entries :)

Hello Amber, yes you look great! Jorge is right on!!
ReplyDeleteI started the BFC last week and have lost 4 lbs in 8 days. My belly fat has definitely dropped. Amazing! I tried on some clothes that were tight before and they fit loose now. It works! Also don't crave sweets. There are some cookies on the counter in freezer magnum mini bars and haven't eaten them.
Thanks for the info on where to find products. Whole foods in Tampa had Joseph's sf syrup 5.49. This is a lifestyle change for the better. It's easy to follow and you are not deprived. I'm 5'0 62yo. Losing bf has always been difficult until now. It is all the sugar in foods we eat. No doubt. The store workers are not well versed on the dangers of sugar I have to say everywhere I visited today. But there's loads of agave on the shelves from Whole Foods, Nutrition Smart etc. I did notice some products have a bfc sticker attached on the label for ex. Nature's Hollow preserves. I can't wait til Costcos opens in Wesley Chapel so I can find more products in one place. It's no wonder we have so many obese people. Sad to see so many young people overweight in school as I am a teacher in MS.
For sweets I have sugar free York peppermint patties.
Way to go everybody!
