I make several things with these tortillas and use them almost daily. Chicken & Carne Asada tacos and wraps from Jorge's menus and a few things I do on my own. They help me keep a meal to under 2 Carb Servings, which I was having trouble doing before I found these.
I thought I had found a better tortilla in the Mission Carb Balance brand, but turns out that they have Sucralose in them, so avoid them! While regular tortillas are okay in Sugar and Carbs, they usually take up two Carb servings on their own and are low in Fiber.
I give La Tortilla Factory Smart & Delicious Tortillas 5 Stars! They are priced great, available at chain grocery stores, Costco and Carbsmart.com. They have a great S/C, are super high in fiber and taste great. These should be a staple in your Belly Fat Cure plan!
I need to find these. They aren't in my Costco or Whole Foods. I'll continue the search. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSusan, check out the web site store locator page. It lists lots of stores across the country, one near you is bound to carry LaTortilla. And if they don't carry this particular low carb variety, ask them to get it.
ReplyDeleteI think the Smart and Delicious line by La Tortilla may be new and just rolling out. Their website had it as "Coming soon". But I have also noticed that Costco's across the country dont carry the same products. Try your local Safeway or Kroger. The Lucky I found it out is nothing fancy at all!
ReplyDeleteYou should try the cactus tortilla, those are the ones that I have. I dont know if the ones that I buy exist in the US but here is a webpage of a brand that -i know you can find in the US but these ones have more carbs...www.nopaltilla.com
ReplyDeleteThe ones that I buy have per serving (1 tortilla) 5 gr of carbs and 0 sugar.
Hey! I found them at my local Hen House Supermarket chain! I did the store locator and it said Whole Foods, but I searched there and asked and they said no, they don't carry them.
ReplyDeleteReally excited that they have 12 g of Fiber. Perfect. One bowl of US Cereal and one of these, plus 8 g from other foods and you're set for 30 g's of Fiber.
That is great Susan! I had Jorge's taco with leftover Tday turkey on it with this today!
ReplyDeleteI also saw them at Nob Hill which is a Raley's chain this weekend.
There is also a tortilla made by Ole' called Xtreme Wellness and its whole wheat. Its only got 5g carbs per tortilla, no sugar, and 12 g fiber per one. : ) Awesome taste. Very filling. Just thought I would share.
ReplyDeleteThose sound great, I really appreciate you all listing new products!! Keep sharing! Can you check the ingredients for me though? I get suspicious when it says 0 sugar grams. It is usually a sign of Sucralose/Aspartame/Saccharin.
ReplyDeleteHello, thanks so much for your post and my husband and I definitely agree that we love The La Tortilla Factory Low Carb/High Fiber Tortillas too!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that we eat at least 2 of them a day! :-) We use the wraps for all of our meals – breakfast, lunch and dinner although can be also used for snacks (you just have to get creative).
I didn't realize that you can buy them from Costco! That is fantastic news since we go through so many of them it would be great to buy in bulk. Thanks so much for letting us know.
If you are interested, we list one of our favorite recipes (Italian Veggie Pizza) on our site.
Thanks and look forward to reading more! :-)
If you get the chance try Mama Lupe's low carb tortillas. They aren't easy to find but, worth trying if you find them. They are, to me, the best tasting of all the low carb tortillas.
ReplyDeleteI found the Ole' ones today at Walmart. Can't wait to try them. Making pizza tonight.
ReplyDeleteThanks for such a great blog!
