True Lemon, True Lime, True Orange Review

True Lemon, True Lime & True Orange Assorted ~ Bulk 192 Packets
First, I have to reveal I have Citrus Tree envy. I recently moved to California and I am envious of my neighbors that have overloaded Lemon and Orange trees! Whenever I am invited over to pick a bag full, I run, not walk with a huge smile on my face.

I have been wanting to try the True Lemon products for many months, since they were featured in Jorge Cruise's Belly Fat Cure book and in the online class I took with him. But I couldn't find any place local that carried them. I was thrilled when I they were mailing free product samples on their website, but disappointed when they never arrived. But alas, CarbSmart saved the day! (They currently have a deal for $2 off per box, and check out their coupon page for more savings)

What did I like best? I loved that they are available in little packets, just like a sweetener, that I can carry in my purse. One packet is said to be equal to one citrus wedge. I love that they are pure juice concentrate with nothing added. I am not a huge Orange Juice drinker, but I have missed that on a low sugar diet plan. Now I'm not going to say True Orange tastes like OJ, but it was a good substitute for someone who has been off sugar for a long time.

Their boxes and website also have some food recipes. I tried a True Lime Shrimp marinade recipe and it was really good!  There is a survey on their website that says "9 out of 10 people prefer True Lemon over actual citrus". That seems crazy to me! I'd much rather have the real, fresh thing. But I can't carry it around in my purse, so I'll settle for True Lemon.

The site for free samples is still up, so you may want to give it a try and see if they ship yours! They also have a product called True Raspberry Lemonade, which I sounds fabulous, but have yet to try.

  1. I have the shaker containers which we use on our veggies, or to add a punch of flavor to a dish. They are so handy to have around.

  2. I like the Lemon-ade with Raspberry. I used to drink Crystal Light but have switched to this instead.

  3. I have all 3 flavors plus the raspberry lemonade. Note that 1 package of lemonade is equal to 2 servings. I was able to purchase mine from QFC and Fred Meyer (Kroger). I've also purchased from the True Lemon website. They often offer free shipping with a $10 purchase.

  7. I just tried all these flavors this week! I love the Raspberry Lemonade! AND...I made up a mixed drink using it! Simple Simple...
Mix Raspberry Lemonade to 12 oz of cold water. Add 1.5 oz of Vodka or Gin. Shake with Crushed Ice in a Martini Shaker...Pour contents in tall glass! (add a few sprigs of mint before shaking to spice it up a little!) Very nice!

  8. Amber, I like the Raspberry lemonade. It is not too sweet tasting, but is if you use the whole packet. That's how I found out it was meant to be 2 servings. I was like, "Dang! This sweet!"
I like to mix mine with plain Talking Rain to making sparkling lemonade.

The True Orange does make a nice OJ substitute. Was never a huge OJ fan, but every now and then I get a craving for it. Doesn't taste exactly like orange juice, more like Tang.

  9. Amber - I saw where Smart and Final was selling this. There was one in Redwood City on Broadway when we lived there.

Love your blog - you are such an inspiration to all of us dieters!!

  10. Amber,
I did get my free samples, although it was months ago.

I also get their emails with specials. They just offered a free 32 pk of True Lemon, Lime or Orange with ANY purchase, so I ordered a 10 pk of the Raspberry Lemonade for $3.99, plus it included Free Shipping!

I REALLY like the RL. I first mixed it with 1 liter of water, but it was too sweet. So now I make a 2 liter pitcher with one packet, and it's wonderful. You have to try it.

I have also found if you add a drop or two of the liquid stevia (clear) to the True L,L or O
    it tastes much better.
