Announcement and Giveaway!

The very first thing you hear from someone starting the Belly Fat Cure is how difficult it is to find the products. I know this is a struggle I had, as have many of you. I scour local health food stores and google "stevia", looking for the just the right things.

That is why I am so excited to inform my readers that I will be collaborating with the website CarbSmart! CarbSmart has been delivering Low Carb products for 11 years, and now has a dedicated Belly Fat Cure section on their site. While other sites sell some of the same products, I was impressed with their dedication to the new Low Sugar Revolution that Jorge Cruise is starting.

Nothing will change here at Me & Jorge, but at least once a month I will contributing an original post there too. You can check out my first article, Belly Fat Cure Basics, here. I will also be recommending products for them to carry that have great S/C Values, so let me know if there are things you just can't find anywhere! When I review products, I always try to let you know where I found it, so you will see CarbSmart pop up on more reviews, with a link back if you are interested in buying it there or just to further research the product.

To help get you all as excited about this as I am, Carbsmart is sponsoring a great giveaway for my readers! It is their Belly Fat Cure Starter Kit that retails for $49.99 and includes several products which have Jorge's Seal of Approval:

  1. Hi Amber!
My favorite thing to eat so far is the dark chocolate! Oh, and a quesadilla made w/ ground turkey, sharp cheddar, jalapenos and whole wheat tortilla. I lost 1.4 on the first week, which I know isn't very much but I weigh 1.4 less than last week!
    Thanks,
    Susie

  8. I love Truvia, unsweetened almond breeze for my protein shakes and because I don't like dark chocolate, Atkins caramel nut bars are my favorite dessert for an SC value of 1/1. They took the place of a Snickers bar for me. Maureen

  9. Congrats on your collaboration Amber. I've said it before, you are a true inspiration to all of us on the BFC! Thank you for all you do!

  10. Hi Amber---How COOL is this!!! I have loved TrueLemon as it has helped me kick my Diet Mt Dew addiction and helps me get in alot of water. I am also using other products such as Almond Breeze and the Smart & Delicious tortillas.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Im glad you all love a good giveaway too!! Thanks for sharing all your favorite BFC foods. I thought I should share mine too, right? I love the Jay Robb protein shakes, babybel cheese (fav snack!) and the tacos made with Smart & Delicious tortillas. I also love Green & Black's 85% Dark Choco. It really is THE best.

  12. Clemmys Ice Cream! A bit tricky to find, but worth the search.

Amber, what is the best way to get the Jay Robb protein powder? Also, how is this different than the chocolate wheetgrass powder. I am confused. I am doing the green drink for probiotics, but am over eggs and need a breakfast replacement--a protein shake would be perfect. Thanks.

  14. My favorite BFC food are the little 2/2 pizzas you can make with pita bread and there are also enough carbs left that I can have a Michalob Ultra -- so pizza and beer get my vote!

My favorite item is the SOBE Lifewater. It has made giving up sodas a little easier.

    ReplyDelete
  16. My husband and I love the Jay Robb chocolate protein powder, Clemmy's ice-cream and Smart & Delicious tortillas.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Donna - Jay Robb is a protein shake, and is great! The Amazing Grass Green Superfood Chocolate is more of a veggie shake. I honestly love both and they would probably both be good for breakfast. Amazing Grass may be more of an acquired taste, but if you are having the Bug Juice then you will like it. I have reviews and giveaways coming for both of them too soon!

  18. I love Truvia, Babybell cheese and Michalob Ultra. I'm in the process of giving up my beloved Diet Coke and I'm very happy that I don't have to give up an occasional beer! Thanks for this great giveaway!!

  22. My favorite BFC food is Smart and Delicious Whole Wheat Tortilla. Usually with some type of meat or chicken and lettuce and cheese. Works out to a 2/1 with high fiber. Yummy.

    ReplyDelete
  23. My favorite so far is Flatout Artisan FOLDit FlatBread. It has cleavage in the middle to make folding easier. Healthy five grain flax, excellent source of ALA Omega3, 100 calories, 8 grams of fiber and 1/1 on the BFC plan. Best of all, it tastes great and doesn't fall apart as I try to eat! I found it at Wegman's.

    ReplyDelete
  24. So much to love, so little time! I love the caramel truffle shake made with Lipton Caramel Truffle tea bags and Jay Robb protein powder--I use chocolate and it's oh so yummy!

  32. So far my favorite has been the Green & Black dark chocolate. I have a major sweet tooth, and never thought that I would ever tolerate the taste of the dark (non-milk) chocolate. The G&B has been a huge satisfier and has kept me SO out of trouble!!! I love it, looking forward to trying more of Jorge's favorites.

    ReplyDelete

  40. I like Uncle Sam's cereal. I found it at my local Sprouts grocery store which just opened last week in my town. They have lots of BFC foods!

The cereal is loaded with fiber (10g) and only 1 g sugar!

    ReplyDelete
  41. My favorite Meal is the Rotissary Chicken Taco's with Carb Smart wheat tortilla's, mexican blend cheese, cilantro, lettuce and a little bit of chili!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Either Sobe lifewater or Trevia. I was addicted to Diet Coke - not anymore

    ReplyDelete
  43. Nature's Hollow SF Strawberry Jam! Absolutely delicious. L.O.V.E. it!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. What an awesome giveaway! You are just so kind to do this. My favorite BFC food is a toss up between Hershey's sugar free dark chocolate and Unsweetened Almond Breeze. I love both!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Just starting this WOE and I love REAL cream in my coffee! Thanks Amber :o)

    ReplyDelete
  46. My favorite snack is Pirate's Booty-I have to buy the single serving bags because it is so good. And the SoBe lifewaters are helping with the sweet tea cravings-they taste like Kool-Aid.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I forgot to mention Zevia Ginger Root Beer and also Sobe (most flavors).

    ReplyDelete
  48. I love SOBE life water!!! It's awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Oh...and Jay Robb Protein Powder! Chocolate!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I love the Crispy Brown Rice Cereal! Just like having a bowl of Rice Krispee's! I buy 2 boxes every single time that I go to the store.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I love the Joseph's sugar free cookies! :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. I love the Lindt 85% dark chocolate. I add a squirt of canned whipped cream to the top. It adds a little sweetness and only adds 1 gram of sugar.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I love the Xylitol. I am so happy to have a sweetener that doesn't leave a funny taste in my mouth. It's just like sugar to me. Love it!! Love the blog too!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I love the Almond Breeze milk! I've never liked regular milk, so it was great to finally find a milk that I like.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Natures Hollows preserves and any 85/86% dark chocolates. Yum!

    ReplyDelete
  56. I'm going to absolutely blow you away. One of my favorite all time food discoveries on the internet turns out to be a major belly-good source of pure awesome.

I'm speaking of none other than the Pioneer Woman bacon-wrapped jalepeno things.

    link: http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2007/07/bacon-wrapped_j/

Bacon, jalepeno peppers, cream cheese. You can eat 4-5 of them for about 1 or 2 sugars and no carbs, depending on how big you make them and they are far more satisfying than chocolate. Since you scrape the seeds out, they are not at all hot, just good.

If a woman wants to convince her husband to do this diet, all she has to do is make these and tell them that they are great on the diet.

I've made these countless times for Church potlucks, parties, etc and they are usually THE favorite things. So simple, yet so good. Try them soon.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Mike - I love Jalapeno Poppers! I will have to try that, thanks so much! I still havent found your SF pudding. The ones at my store had Maltitol, Erythrotol PLUS Sucralose/Splenda but they werent the mousse ones. Double check your pack for me, will you?

    ReplyDelete
  58. Joseph's molitol...I made Jorge's brownies and they were great!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Amber, the second ingredient is xylitol but the second to last ingredient is sucralose. Darn. I didn't even bother checking once I found xylitol. Didn't think stuff would need additional sweeteners.

I wonder how much sucralose is actually in there? I may have to make a bit of an exception on these.

  60. Amber
There is not one thing on the program that I haven't liked,
But the flat bread from Costco has 7 grams of fiber,(fiber is important) Eat one for breakfast with bacon, cheese, and egg rolled up. Then one for lunch with tuna mixed with baby spinach cut small, and Newman's creamy Caesar dressing is over half the fiber for the day.
Thanks for all you have done for all who look in on you,
    Linda from balto.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Hi! I love True Lemon (and liem and orange). I was using before BFC though...so my favorite "new" finds are Almond Milk (since I never really liked any milk!) and Greek yogurt! I really want to try the Nature's Hollow preserves, just didn't get them ordered yet!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Truvia!! I don't think I'd have been able to do this with out it!

    ReplyDelete
  63. I love the Almond Breeze unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk, I would love to try SoBe Lifewater, but can't seem to find it here in New Brunswick Canada just yet ! I've got the Lindt Excellence 90% Cacao Chocolate . . . hummm... me thinks that will be an "aquired" taste lol However I still got that fuzzy warm feeling from it.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Truvia would be my number one choice. But I just discovered this Good Earth herbal tea. It's so naturally sweet without any sweetener added. I don't even need truvia with it (and I add truvia to everything!).

    ReplyDelete
  65. Ooh I love the Truvia so far, and I was pleasantly surprised by the almont milk, and I'm growing to like the high cacao chocolates as well.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I would pick ZEVIA Sodas. I still have children at home and we don't drink a lot of pop but this is a great alternative for us.

    ReplyDelete
  67. My favorite BFC food? Zevia sodas, and taco salads! Love it.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Oh, definitely the smart tortilla wraps! If I could eat them every meal I would!

  71. smart and delicious tortillas!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Too many to mention! I can't choose just one! Truvia, anything from Joseph's (cookies, syrup, maltitol), Jay Robb chocolate shakes, Amazing Greens shakes - I could go on and on and on...

    ReplyDelete
  73. I think its funny nobody has said "Eggs!".

    ReplyDelete
  74. I love the Jay Robb bars...I tried it on a trip to the US. Are they okay on the BFC? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  75. Dawn - I looked them up and the 1 I saw had 9grams sugar and 24 grams carbs. So it would be a 9/2 so way to high in sugar. Keep each meal to a 5/2 or less. You could have half tho

    ReplyDelete
  76. I love Truvia and Almond Breeze unsweetened milk. Love your site, thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I was starting to get discouraged on the BFC because I feel I'm hitting a wall as to what to have to eat especially around lunch. I don't eat seafood and I'm getting bored with the same things. My husband is doing WW and he can have so much more than I can and it was making me sad. I was going to give it one more week before deciding to do something else. However, after reading some of these posts and ideas, I may have to stay on it a bit longer.
If I had to pick on BFC favorite, it would be the Smart & Delicious tortillas. I've been eating these for years and make great breakfast burritos. :)

  78. I love Vanilla Almond Breeze and the Pita Pizzas! Can't wait to try the Barlean's Omega swirl in yogurt!

    ReplyDelete
  79. So far everything that I have tried has been wonderful, I haven't found anything I don't like. So it's hard to limit it to just one favorite. I agree with all of the previous posts so I thouught I would list a few of my other favorites not yet mentioned. I love Sweet Leaf's Liguid Stevia - Vanilla Creme, I put it in Perrier and it taste like Cream Soda, great replacement for Diet Coke. I also love Barlean's Flax Oil - Cinnamon flavor, I put it my oatmeal daily. And fianally, FlatOut's Flat Bread - Multi-Grain with Flax it has 8g of fiber and only 17 Carbs and 1 sugar for a large piece and best of all Costco carries it!

    Enjoy, Candy

    ReplyDelete
  80. Joanna - I agree there are GREAT ideas here! Maybe step back from the BFC book a bit and look at it from a fresh perspective. I really dont feel like the foods are limited. Pretty much everything I could want has a Low Sugar/Low Carb version. Ice Cream, shakes, sandwiches, tacos, pizza, oatmeal, cereal, chocolates, green veggies, dairy (yogurt/cottage cheese/cheese, etc). Grab a girlfriend and head to the store to search all the labels with you! I think they hate it when they see me walk in since they know Im going to turn everything around, pick it up and put it back! Lots of times I take photos of products to research later or take notes! lol!

Candy - Ive been dying to try the Liquid Stevia too! So jealous ;-) Where IN Costco are the Flatouts? Ive searched high & low and asked employees and cant find it!

    ReplyDelete
  81. I love the Nature Hollow sugar free jam. I am recommending the BFC program and the jam to anyone who will listen. It is all good!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  82. Also, I started up a BFC blog to help keep me accountable, because it seems like it has helped you so much!

I linked to this givaway on it. You can probably find it by just clicking my username, but anyway it's: http://www.bfcbible.blogspot.com

    ReplyDelete
  83. I am so happy that Truvia is easy to find. I haven't gotten to try most of the other items, but I really want to try the preserves and Scott's BBQ sauce!

  84. Amber,
At my San Diego area Costco the flat bread is in the back by the breads, on the racks with the tortillas. They are in an 18 count pack for a little over $5. Hope that helps.

  85. Hi,
I like the Ezekial bread for toast in the mornings.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Where do you find the Ezekial bread? I haven't been able to locate it around me.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Hi,

I love the Ezekial Bread from Trader Joes. The
brand is Rainier Organic Bread. It has 0 grams sugar, 16 grams carbs and 6 grams of fiber for 1 slice. I have it every morning with my eggs.
Also love the unsweetned Almond Milk both the vanilla and chocolate.

Thank you Amber for this wonderful blog. I make sure to check it everyday.

  98. My favorite item so far is the Sobe Life water and TruLemon. I was a chronic soda-drinker. Even when I started getting away from regular Pepsi, Dr. Pepper and such, I went to their diet versions and kept drinking them all day. Sobe is a good tasting alternative for me, and TruLemon is making plain water more palatable for me.

    1. Add 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk, spinach, 1/4 frozen blueberries (or 1/8), a squeeze of the oil and a handful of ice cubes to the blender. Delish.
    2. Toast Ezekiel bread and add 1 T of no sugar peanut butter and 2 teaspoons of the oil on top. Yummy.

  119. My husband is doing this with me (although he doesn't need it) and he is addicted to the blueberry jam from nature's hollow. I love it too and also like the mountain berry on some whole wheat toast!
